Perfect Potion to Host Brisbane Launch of Salvatore Battaglia's "Kotodama of Scent" Featuring Special Guests from Japan and Launch of New Kokoro Collection

BANYO, QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA – 17 April 2025 – Perfect Potion is delighted to invite members of the press to the Brisbane launch of Salvatore Battaglia's highly anticipated new book, "Kotodama of Scent." This special event will take place at Perfect Potion, located at 7 Guardhouse Road, Banyo, on Sunday, 18th May 2025, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.

"Kotodama of Scent" is a heartfelt exploration of the deep connection between 28 carefully selected Japanese words that nourish one’s soul and pairing them with an essential oil that embodies the meaning of the word. The book delves into words that evoke resilience, tranquillity, mindfulness and impermanence, aiming to uplift the soul and foster personal growth and well-being. This project reflects Salvatore Battaglia's passion for aromatherapy and his profound love and respect for Japanese culture, a culture he describes as spiritually rich and one that nourishes the soul.

Adding a unique and significant dimension to the book launch, Perfect Potion is honoured to welcome distinguished guests from Japan:

• Chief Buddhist Priest Sousin Takeuchi of Jimyo-in Temple, Koyasan, who contributed much of the exquisite calligraphy featured in "Kotodama of Scent." Chief Priest Takeuchi will share his profound spiritual wisdom on the meaning of kotodama (the spiritual power of words) and the practice of Shodo (Japanese calligraphy).
• Hitomi Takeuchi, a tea ceremony master, will perform a traditional Japanese tea ceremony. During the ceremony, Mrs. Takeuchi will explain the profound meaning of wakei-seijyaku (harmony, respect, purity, and tranquillity) associated with this ancient and meaningful practice.
• Kiyo Yamamoto, Perfect Potion's invaluable business partner and the translator of "Kotodama of Scent" into Japanese, will serve as the translator for the event, ensuring seamless communication and understanding throughout the proceedings.

Adding to the excitement, Salvatore Battaglia will also unveil the Kokoro collection, a new range of five exquisite essential oil blends. These blends – embodying the kotodama of his favourite Japanese words featured in the book: kokoro(heart/mind/spirit), ikigai (a reason for being), kintsugi (the art of repairing with gold), natsukashii (a feeling of fond nostalgia), and wabi sabi (finding beauty in imperfection) – are described by Salvatore as possibly his best creations ever.
