Sodium bicarbonate (bicarb) is alkaline, and while it's considered effective at neutralising odour, it can disrupt the skin's natural pH balance. This disruption can lead to irritation, redness, itching and rashes, especially in those with sensitive skin. As the skin of our underarms is very delicate, we become more vulnerable to irritation in this sensitive area. That’s why we recommend opting for a gentle, more skin-compatible natural deodorant to avoid discomfort, even for those with less sensitive skin.
