Frankincense Essential Oil: Regenerative and healing, frankincense essential oil is a deeply spiritual and sacred oil that is also said to improve skin tone and help heal wounds.

Petitgrain Essential Oil: The sweet floral scent of petitgrain revitalises the spirit, it’s reminiscent of orange blossoms and is known to have a beautifully balancing effect on one’s mood.

Sweet Orange: Certified organic sweet orange essential oil opens the heart to a bubbling spring of pure joy, light heartedness and radiating warmth. It’s suitable for delicate skin and its cheery scent brings delight and a hint of deliciousness.

Cold and flu season has arrived. Elevate your wellness – side-step the struggles of an aching body and incessant sniffles this year and start feeling blissful instead!

Aromatherapy tips to help you stay balanced and blissful…

Feeling stuffy and congested?

Breathe Easy Blend is a powerhouse purifier. It features a decongesting blend of pine and eucalyptus to help you replace congestion with clarity. You’ll also find lemon essential oil included in the mix. Lemon is included as a high vibrational oil that helps lift your spirits when you’re feeling fatigued.Studies have also shown it to be effective in killing airborne microbes and to possess strong antiviral and immune-stimulating properties to help you fight off infectious conditions.2,3 Thyme essential oil is featured for its offering of ‘broad-spectrum healing qualities’ and strong antimicrobial activity which is often used for the treatment of infections like bronchitis.4

How to Use Breathe Easy Blend

Let Breathe Easy Blend work its decongesting magic. Add 5-10 drops to a bowl of hot water. Position your face above the water and cover with a towel.Take a deep breath in and enjoy the benefits of direct inhalation. Keep some tissues nearby! Another great option? Diffuse Breathe Easy in your home or office to help cleanse and purify the air you breathe.

Give yourself an Extra Breathe Easy Boost

“My little girl finally slept through after days of coughing – I’m using the oil and the balm. Just love your products. ‘ – Dusty!

Breathe Easy Balm utilises the powerhouse purifiers in Breathe Easy Blend in the form of a smooth, textured balm. Made from entirely natural and organic ingredients, it helps provide natural relief when you’re feeling chesty. Feeling a little under the weather? Support yourself naturally, apply Breathe Easy Balm to your chest, throat and back and under your nose. We also suggest applying it to the soles of your feet and popping on some socks. Why? Your feet are highly absorbent and will allow the essential oils to be absorbed into your system quickly and deeply.

Sip to Soothe

‘Great if you’ve got a cold, sore throat, sniffles…’ – Saffron

Make prevention a priority! While Breathe Easy Balm does all the hard work, put your feet up and sip some warm Breathe Easy Herbal Tea. When cold and flu season hits, we love to stock up on this herbal helper and sip it daily for a natural immunity boost. This fortifying brew of echinacea, elderflower, liqourice root, peppermint, sage and thyme will help build your natural defenses and immunity.

Why Breathe Easy Tea?

The herbs in Breathe Easy Herbal Tea have been especially chosen with their unique healing properties in mind. Echinacea is known for its ability to raise your body’s resistance and to stimulate your immune system. We’ve also included peppermint to help settle upset tummies. Sage is recommended for soothing inflammation of the mucous membranes of your nose and throat.5

Your Breathe Easy Questions Answered!

Are Breathe Easy Blend and Balm safe for children and babies? Yes! Breathe Easy Essential Oil Blend is definitely safe to diffuse around little ones. The oils in Breathe Easy are quite powerful, so we suggest diffusing in a large, well-ventilated area and under supervision to ensure they have no complaints and do not come in contact with the diffuser or pure oil blend.

Breathe Easy Balm is an excellent plant-based chest and back rub. For children age 6 months – 1 year, we recommend applying on the back and feet. Children over 1 can use as directed. As with all products, a small patch test is recommended to ensure your child’s skin doesn’t react.

How many cups of Breathe Easy Tea can I have? Drink as needed. Anywhere up to 3 cups is fine.

What is the difference between Breathe Easy Balm and Breathe Easy Blend? Breathe Easy Balm and Breathe Easy Blend utilise the same powerhouse oils, however they differ in the way they can be used to benefit you. Breathe Easy Blend should be used in a diffuser, dropped onto a tissue, or by steam inhalation by adding a few drops to a bowl of steaming water and breathing deeply. Breathe Easy Balm is great to use as a chest, back and feet rub. It’s also excellent dabbed under the nose.

Natural Mama Therapy

Holistic Self Care Tips for Natural Mums

As a mother, finding time for you can be like finding a needle in a haystack. Feelings of stress and overwhelm are considered a typical side effect of parenting, possibly because stress and anxiety can result from not having enough time for self-care. We love to pamper our cherished mama customers. Below we share some helpful self-care tips and practical rituals from the author of Hippie Mama, Rita Balshaw. These tips are simple, affordable and don’t even require leaving the house!

Shower Sanctuary

After a long day, nothing beats a warm, cleansing shower. There is something very sacred about pure water running over your skin washing away the stresses of the day. It can often help make everything feel a little better.

You will need:

Place the candles in your bathroom and light. After undressing, turn on the shower and use your selected essential oil to place a few drops on the shower floor (tiled floors only to remain on the safe side). Acknowledge how the warm water feels on your skin and take a few rounds of deep breaths.

Enjoy the steamy, fragrant goodness. After drying, apply an aromatic, plant-based body oil such as Pure Rose Body Oil, Skin Elixir Body Oil or Chakra Balancing Massage Oil.They all contain feel-good essential oils to leave you nourished and blissful.

Foot Haven

A detoxifying foot-bath is a great way to release excess toxins from the body. This self-care ritual has been practised for thousands of years in ancient folklore medicine. Make your own detoxifying foot bath with pure green clay, purifying essential oils, and mineral salts. This foot haven can be experienced whilst your little one is napping or whilst you’re watching them play!

Add all ingredients to a bathtub or foot spa with plenty of warm water. Soak your hard-working feet for as long as desired. It is really important to drink an alkalising beverage after any detoxifying therapy. A large glass of warm lemon water with a pinch of turmeric powder is a great option.

Herbs for Health

When mums are feeling stressed, some common go-tos are wine, chocolate, and coffee! I would like to add a more nutritious support to the list. Herbs! Both in tea and extract form. Tea drinking is herbal medicine in its simplest form and can do wonders for your health and wellbeing.

The most appropriate herbal teas to take when you are feeling overwhelmed are those that are calming, sedating, and that balance the nervous system. Relax, Sweet Dreams, Vata, Pitta and Bon Appetite blends are my top picks.

Legs Up The Wall

Keep a yoga mat in your living room or child’s bedroom. Whenever you get the chance, lay on it! Viparita Karani yoga pose, also known as legs-up-the-wall pose, promotes circulation and a pleasant rebalancing effect. This restorative posture is especially beneficial if you are feeling stressed, fatigued, have lower back pain or are experiencing jet-lag.

Digital Detox

Feeling icky and disconnected? Start each day with a purifying beverage. Try a green smoothie, warm lemon water, or grapefruit juice to cleanse and hydrate your body. It is incredible to think that the average person spends about nine hours a day in front of a television or computer screen! Spend at least one hour a day in nature, ensuring you get the right amount of sunlight and fresh air. Boost your wellbeing by eliminating the use of all electronics at least two hours before bed and one hour after waking. You will sleep better and wake feeling clear and refreshed!

Living an Organic Lifestyle

To celebrate Australian Organic Awareness Month, Sal Battaglia discusses the importance of organic products in aromatherapy and the significance organic means for Perfect Potion products.

Living an Organic Lifestyle – by Sal Battaglia

Many people turn to organics for their health and wellbeing. Whether it is the food we eat, the products we inhale or the products we put on our skin –  chemically processed products increase and enhance the risk of potentially harmful toxins entering body that increase the risk of creating potentially harmful free radicals that can be carcinogenic or pro-inflammatory.

Using organics is therefore such an important step in maintaining our health and wellbeing.

Just as important is the health and wellbeing of our planet. When we make the decision to use organics we are playing a vital role in supporting those farmers who utilize farming practices that will not pollute or harm the environment or wildlife. Organic farming is often done on a much smaller scale and essential oils produced from organically grown plants are often a little more expensive, however this does represent the true cost of growing high quality, chemical free products. Also what value do you put on your health and that of your family.

As an aromatherapist, I am also asked what is the difference between a conventional commercial essential oil and a organically produced essential oil. Well number one is the fact that most commercial conventional essential oils are chemically adulterated. This is unfortunately something that happens all too often in the essential oil industry and most essential oil traders turn a blind eye to it – providing all sorts of excuses such as improved pharmacology and better aroma by rectifying or adulterating the oil. What a load of goobly dooks!

I decided to have our organic lavender tested in Japan at a laboratory that uses Kirlian photography and GDV (Gas discharge voltage) technology to test the energetic qualities of the oil.

The proof is in the results. Our organic lavender oil not only had a stronger energetic qualities, it also had a much wider and active bandwidth. This clearly goes to show that when we produce an essential oil or be it food organically it has a stronger energetic quality or dare I say “lifeforce”.

Unfortunately contemporary science is not advanced enough to understand such concept of lifeforce, however in traditional healing systems such Ayurveda or Traditional Chinese Medicine, the lifeforce is integral to promoting health and wellbeing.

I firmly believe that not only is the lifeforce of the plant is enhanced when the plant is grown organically, the lifeforce is destroyed when the plant is cultivated by conventional non-organic means.

So by supporting organics, we are securing a better and healthier future for ourselves, our children and our planet!

Rita Balshaw’s Mindfulness Practices

Mindfulness & Aromatherapy

By Rita Balshaw

Anyone can have a mindfulness practice. Any activity done with pure intention and complete presence is meditation. It doesn’t matter how old you are, how fit you are, if you’re religious or not…mindful meditation is available to us all.

Meditation is all about internal self-connection; by cultivating a deeper connection to ourselves we inevitably gain more understanding into the workings of our bodies, minds and human experiences. In a high pressure society we see more and more people suffering with stress related illnesses; adrenal fatigue, skin conditions, onset obesity, high blood pressure and chronic insomnia.

Mindfulness practice teaches us to literally be mindful – mindful of our thoughts, and mindful of the whole interrelated self; mind, body and spirit.

Historically, meditation forms the foundation of the ancient Indian Ayurvedic approach to healing and balancing the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual body. By maintaining an open and healthy flowing energy through the body we can free ourselves of the physical and emotional disturbances that essentially may cause chronic stress and illness.

Meditation + Essential Oils

It is said that smells influence how we feel more than any other sensory experience. Essential oils enhance the energetic vibration of our own unique energy field that almost instantaneously transports you to a place of peace and calm. The tradition of using essential oils and aromatic incense resins which are conducive to meditative practice continues to be embraced in today’s contemporary world, bringing relaxation and awareness to the lives of many.

The essential oils I like to use for meditation are frankincense, rose absolute, petitgrain, jasmine, neroli, juniper berry, rosemary, jatamansi, lavender, sage, basil and lotus. These aromas effectively promote a clear mind and joyful heart, leaving me to feel grounded, balanced and in complete harmony.

How do I Meditate?

The best time to start meditation is now! That’s right, right now. Switch off your computer and mobile phone. Just sit. Close your eyes. Breathe. Take deep inhales and slow exhales. Relax your shoulders, softening with each gentle exhale. Notice how your physical body is feeling. Allow your thoughts to come and go. Observe how deep or shallow your breath is. Bring your awareness into your heart and enjoy a few moments to connect with your true self. First thing in the morning is a great time for meditation; it will help keep your body feeling energised and your state of mind positive. You will discover how meditation gently takes you into the present moment and towards self- actualisation.

DIY Meditation Mist

This Meditation Mist is an exclusive blend of essential oils that will help to rebalance and harmonise the energy centres within the subtle body. Use this mist any way you please; before meditation, to clean your yoga mat, as an aromatic mist to promote relaxation.

50ml glass spray bottle

Purified water

20 drops essential oil solubiliser

6 drops sage essential oil

6 drops rose essential oil

6 drops frankincense essential oil

10 drops lemon essential oil

Add all ingredients to a clean glass spray bottle and gently shake to combine. Always label and date your homemade aromatherapy products.

Meditation Extras

Allocate a quiet and clean space, decked out with comfortable cushions, an aromatherapy diffuser, candles and anything spiritually symbolic to help you to commit to your daily practice. Listening to tranquil, euphoric or tribal music whilst meditating will help to enhance your level of relaxation, guiding you towards stillness. Sipping on our Perfect Potion Chakra Balancing Tea prior to mediation is a great way to promote serenity and spiritual expansion.

Perfect Potion and the Environment

Perfectly Certified

Our earth is beautiful and powerful and respecting this delicate balance means taking responsibility for the way in which we live in this world.

The demand for products holding certifications identifying them as organic, natural or cruelty free is increasing every year with consumers becoming more savvy about what they buy and how this effects their bodies and the environment.

At Perfect Potion, we’re so proud to hold certifications that mean we use ingredients that support the environment, communities and animals.

Since the beginning, owners and creators Sal Battaglia and Carolyn Stubbin have been passionate about bringing customers products that are natural without compromising the environment.

We often receive questions from customers asking what the benefits of having these certifications means and, why organic is better than non-organic?

To us, having organic, natural and cruelty free ingredients epitomises the Perfect Potion ethos: we want to create beautiful aromatherapy products that adhere to a holistic way of life. A holistic way of life is the belief that all parts of the world are intimately connected.

Often in today’s society we can feel detached from our environment, but we want our customers to feel that connection again, and we believe this can be achieved through knowing what you buy, where it comes from and how it was grown.

COSMOS and ACO

Certified organic ingredients mean that we are looking after the environment. Most organic certifications prohibit the use of synthetic chemicals such as pesticides, fungicides and herbicides. This means that farming biodiversity remains and the land will be rich and viable into the future.

Perfect Potion holds two organic certifications: COSMOS and Australian Certified Organic (ACO). COSMOS is the result of five leading European certification bodies working together to develop a worldwide cosmetics certification scheme.

COSMOS recognises certified natural and organic cosmetics have been made using natural and organic ingredients that are sustainable and environmentally friendly. This certification is used in Perfect Potion’s skincare and body care, ensuring what you put on your skin is natural.

When sourcing our ingredients, to comply with COSMOS, each ingredient must be free from GMOs, nanomaterials, irradiation and animals testing. Australian Certified Organic or ACO is the local accredited certification body for the COSMOS standard and requires that products and ingredients are grown and processed without the use of synthetic chemicals, fertiliser or GMOs.

Australian Certified Organic is the strictest organic certifying body in Australia and audits Perfect Potion annually. ACO declares that certified organic products are not only better for your health and well being; they are better for the environment.

Cruelty Free

To make sure we look after the environment and all its creatures, Perfect Potion has also been accredited by Choose Cruelty Free. This means we hold the licence to bear the bunny logo on all our products. Cruelty Free demonstrates that all of our ingredients have not been tested on animals. For our vegetarian and vegan customers, we’ve got you covered. All of our products are vegetarian, with most being vegan. You can find lists of our products in store and on our website that identify the small number of items which may contain beeswax or honey.

Charlie is a member of the Perfect Potion family and helps out in the office by eating ‘spare’ food and giving us cuddles. We would never test our products on Charlie or any of her fur brothers and sisters, except perhaps our Furry Animal Shampoo on bath day.

Choosing to support certified organic and cruelty free products means supporting organic farmers as well as ethical producers and processors who are doing the right thing for the earth.

We love all of our customers and we thank you all for choosing Perfect Potion. By being part of the Perfect Potion family, you’re ensuring a natural way of living and environmentally conscious way of living is available for all.

The Chakra Diet (A Hippies in the City blog post)

The Chakra Diet – By Rita Balshaw

When you think of Chakra balancing you probably don’t think about food! And, assumably your mind directly wanders to the more obvious Chakra healing methods of colour therapy, certain yoga poses, crystals, essences or perhaps the Perfect Potion Chakra Balancing Range. Balancing the energy centres within the body (aka the chakras) can be achieved by including and excluding certain foods, working on the premise that every food commodity has a certain energetic healing vibration and frequency.

Since ancient times, it was known that people who took care of themselves holistically lived healthier and longer lives. Acknowledging our physical and emotional health via the energy of the 7 chakras allows for a successful mind body connection. This is something that has been held of great importance in Ayurvedic healing traditions. When the body is in balance and we are physically and mentally healthy everything just seems to fall into place. Health is an expression of balance, and Ayurveda views disease as an expression of imbalance within the body. The Ancient System of Chakra Balancing and its wise philosophies will provide insight into your true self, empowering you to heal and manage all dimensions of your being.

Here we discover how certain food groups can be used to effectively restore and harmonise each unique Chakra.

Base/Root Chakra

The journey through the chakras begins with the base chakra. The base chakra is concerned with survival, security and basic human needs. This chakra reflects our connection to life-force energy and helps us to stay grounded and embodied. The foods to promote healthy base energy must be nourishing and grounding, such as: root vegetables like carrots, pumpkin, potatoes, parsnips, radishes, beetroot, onions, garlic and protein-rich foods like organic eggs, lean red meat, beans and tofu.

Sacral Chakra

This particular energy field is very much associated with creativity, fluidity and sexual energy. Enjoying sensuality and pleasure all assist in enhancing the vitality of the sacral chakra.  Enjoy sweet and light foods; mango, mandarin, papaya, passionfruit, raw honey, maple syrup, dates, figs, almond, cashews and fresh coconut water.

Solar Plexus Chakra

This one all is about empowerment and transformation. The solar plexus is healthy when we feel confident, assertive and free from feelings of anger and resentment. To keep this chakra healthy, one must embrace a diet that includes yellow, high enzyme foods that allow for good digestion. Things like, pineapples, bananas, squash, lemons and spices like ginger, mustard seeds and turmeric. Brewing up a spicy ginger, cinnamon and turmeric latte, based on almond milk will serve the digestion greatly.

Heart Chakra

The heart chakra is concerned with forgiveness and compassion. We experience unconditional love through the heart chakra and it is where we develop true self-acceptance. When this particular chakra is in balance it encourages feelings of positivity, openness and connection. The heart is said to be the core of immunity, vitality and inner strength, this is often why people become sick and weak when they experience conflict or grief. A diet full of nourishing green vegetables, fruits and super foods is a great way to heal this chakra. Be sure to include plenty of spinach, zucchini, basil, kale, broccoli, beans, peas and asparagus. Enjoy kiwi fruit, green apples, cucumbers, avocado and limes, wheat grass, matcha powder and green tea.

Throat Chakra

The throat chakra deals with communication, truthfulness and creative expression. Imbalances within the throat chakra can result in indecisiveness, lack of creative expression, inability to accept criticism. Swollen glands, thyroid issues and a sore throat can be a physical manifestation of blockages within this energy field. Although blue foods are rare, having plenty of blueberries and blackberries are your best bet to assist with healing the throat chakra. Try a soothing blueberry smoothie, using almond milk, raw honey, steamed purple sweet potato and chia seeds.

Third Eye Chakra

Often referred to as the center of intuition, imagination and mindfulness, this chakra is concerned with trusting your inner knowing rather than over analysing situations. The sixth chakra is the gateway into a high realm of consciousness, where we develop connection to the spiritual world. The good news is that raw chocolate is one of the best foods for the third eye chakra; raw cacao stimulates mental clarity and raises the human vibration making you feel blissful and present in the moment. Raw chocolate also contains MAO inhibitors (monoamine oxidase) which allows more of the feel good serotonin to circulate in the brain. Intuitive and mindful eating is governed by the third-eye chakra and it is best to eat lots of food that support brain function. Sustainably caught fish, walnuts, almonds, hemp seeds and flaxseed oil are wonderful sources of essential fatty acids, that contributes to a healthy and happy brain.

Crown Chakra

The Crown Chakra is our highest energy centre, located at the top of the head. It represents freedom, deep understanding, spiritual enlightenment and union with the higher self. Opening or balancing your Crown Chakra can bring a profound awakening, a connection to your spiritual nature as well as to cosmic consciousness, and a deep understanding of universal love. To support the frequency of this chakra it is important to eat and drink commodities that are considered healing and sacred. Gotu Kola, ashwaganda, tulsi basil, ginseng and bramhi are helpful herbs to promote clarity and spiritual connection. Fasting and cleansing programs is said to purify the body and mind, leading to Crown Chakra awakening.

D.I.Y Calamine Lotion

By Rita Balshaw, author of Hippies in the City

Some store bought calamine lotion brands contain nasty ingredients, including synthetic fragrances and parabens. I speak to many health conscious mothers across our Perfect Potion stores. A popular subject of interest is how to treat common aliments for children, these include natural remedies for skin conditions, heat rashes, chicken pox, burns and bites. The following natural “Calamine Lotion” recipe is an easy to make homemade, natural remedy that works a treat to alleviate itching, redness and inflammation.

2 tbs pink clay

2 tbs bicarb soda

2 drops lavender essential oil

2 drops tea tree essential oil

1 tbs 50ml rose water

Use a teaspoon to mix all the ingredients in a small dish, slowly add in the rose water until a smooth paste consistency is achieved. Transfer the paste to a clean jar and refrigerate to keep for 3 to 5 days. Apply this soothing lotion to the affected areas and allow to dry before rinsing in a warm bath using Top To Toe Wash. Applying an additional healing ointment like the Protect and Repair Balm is an absolute genesis for helping to further soothe and heal skin irritation.

#everydayaromatherapy – Treating your Tresses

Treating your Tresses

Hair has been an important aspect of beauty for thousands of years. The ancient Greeks, Romans, and Egyptians scented and treated their hair with essential oils and nourished it with selected vegetable oils.

Thousands of years later, our hair is still an important aspect of how we look and feel. We all want the feel of soft and nourished hair billowing on our shoulders or the feeling of shiny locks as we run our hands through it, but what do we have to do to achieve this?

Beautiful hair doesn’t have to come at the price of using non-natural ingredients. Achieving hair that feels silky smooth and has a beautiful vibrant shine is simple: aromatherapy!

Perfect Potion’s range of haircare products integrate aromatherapy to help you achieve soft and shiny hair and a nourished scalp, naturally!

What’s so good about it?

Our range includes a variety of shampoos and conditioners, as well as an oil elixir, balm and beard oil. But how do they work naturally?

Rosemary essential oil is a key ingredient in our Rosemary Shampoo and Conditioner as well as our Hair and Scalp Elixir. The rosemary in these products helps to avoid dandruff and an itchy scalp. Massaging your scalp with either the Rosemary Shampoo or Hair and Scalp Elixir will stimulate and rejuvenate hair follicles by increasing blood circulation to the scalp. We’ve also added geranium, ylang ylang and lavender to these products as well as to our Hair Balm. Essential oil fragrances are heat activated, therefore the heat from your scalp activates these essential oils so you enjoy the therapeutic scent. Geranium dispels anxiety, ylang ylang is incredibly uplifting and lavender is calming, all to contribute to making you feel as shiny and wonderful as your hair looks.

Similarly, we have added Roman Chamomile essential oil to our Chamomile Shampoo. Roman Chamomile has a wonderful fruity scent; it is uplifting and helps to give us a sense of purpose. Roman Chamomile essential oil combined with German Chamomile herbal extract is what gives our Chamomile Shampoo the chamomile kick you need. German Chamomile herbal extract is used for the relief of symptoms of eczema and dermatitis by soothing rashes and irritated skin, making our Chamomile Shampoo and Marigold Conditioner perfect for those with sensitive scalps still wanting soft and beautiful hair.

Tips and Tricks

Here are some tips and tricks for using our products to give your hair an extra boost of radiance naturally.

For dry, brittle and damaged hair… in a bowl mix Rosemary Conditioner and our Certified Organic Coconut Oil. Apply generously to dry hair and let it nourish for 30 minutes or longer. Shampoo and condition as normal. For a dry and itchy scalp… use a dropper to part your hair and coat scalp with our Hair and Scalp Elixir. Let the oil nourish for the scalp for 30 minutes or leave overnight. Shampoo and condition as normal.

Do you have any tips and tricks for using our hair care products? If so, take a photo and tag us with @perfectpotion and #everydayaromatherapy. We always love seeing our products in action!

The Magic of Crystals and Aromatherapy

Guest Blogger Paola Milani gives us advice on combining crystals with aromatherapy

Having worked as an aromatherapist, I have enjoyed seeing and working with the connections between the plant, mineral and animal kingdoms. Crystals have worked their way into aromatherapy and I have loved seeing the connection they give each other as their energetics are very similar.

Using essential oils and crystals is a wonderful way of empowering mind, body and spirit.

How to use crystals and essential oils

For my chosen crystals, I recommend waiting for a full-moon and making a Crystal Elixir. This can be done by soaking a crystal in a bowl of water overnight and combining essential oils in a spray bottle along with a Essential Oil Solubiliser. When soaking crystals be careful not use ones that dissolve in water like Selenite.

There are many other rituals that involve crystals; you can lay them on your body or wear them as jewellery. To involve aromatherapy for these methods you can use an essential oil based spray, mist or perfume and omit the crystal-soaking step.

In this blog I’ve picked my top four crystals (I have so many favourites, so picking four was difficult) and outlined which essential oils are associated with them. These four crystals are not only my favourite go-to’s but are also the ones that I believe are most relevant to the majority of people.

Amber and Sweet Orange

Amber encourages laughter and joy in life; it empowers, transforms and helps in the search for new pathways in life. Sweet Orange is warm and uplifting; it doesn’t take things too seriously. Sweet Orange reduces people’s fears of the unknown and conveys a sense of happiness. Both Amber and Sweet Orange are wonderful to use when you are feeling ‘stuck’ in life.

Labradorite and Pine

Working with Labradorite helps strengthen freewill and allows space for original thought. It inspires imagination and balances intellectual thought blended with intuitive wisdom. Pine is uncompromising and represents the free spirit.

Fluorite and Rosemary

Fluorite is a powerful stone to use in balancing the brain and speaks of the power of thought. It increases focus and cultivates trust in mental ability. Rosemary strengthens the nervous system and provides support in stressful conditions. Both are beneficial to work with when you need a clear mind when studying or working.
Perfect Potion blends:

Boji and Vetiver

Boji allows one to become more grounded and connected to one’s body. It encourages direct communication between the mind and the physical body. Vetiver is likened to the smell of a damp forest floor and reminiscent of the scent of Mother Earth. Vetiver is nourishing, strengthening and balancing. Both Vetiver and Boji are wonderful to use to help balance and ground the mind, body and spirit.
